Serena Exercise Study
The SERENA exercise study is examining the dose-response effects of exercise on abdominal obesity and risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women and men. The primary aim of the study is to determine the effects of varying levels of exercise on waist circumference and other health measures.
There is no cost to you for participation in this study.
We are looking for 320 men and women to participate in this study. All participants randomized to an exercise group will be asked to exercise 5 times per week in our private exercise facilities here at Queen's University for a period of six months. All exercise is supervised within our private facilities which are available from 6:00am to 8:00pm from Monday to Friday and from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. In addition all participants will have access to our private shower and changing facilities.
All participants will have several personal nutritional counselling meetings with no need to purchase any special foods or vitamins.
